Greek distributor Cocolak opened the doors of its premises in Thessaloniki last week for its annual open day, inviting operators to see the latest in amusement machines from around the world.

John Stergides took a short detour from the Milan Show last month in order to visit Sallonica in Greece, for the 12th annual invitation-only showcase of the latest amusement titles from local operator Cocolak Games. (Greek Distributor Cocolak)

Organised by Kallinikos Tsaganakis, who founded the company with Vasilis Tsaganakis in 1995, the event is a celebration of arcade and amusement innovation, and attracts visitors from across the country.

“As every year, this special show is like the Electrocoin Open Day at Park Avenue in London,” Stergides told Coinslot. “The visitors are by invitation only, and the company organises the hotel, and dinner at one of the best restaurants in town.”

“Kallinikos shows a very big selection of games from over the world, including successful games from Electrocoin, the Spinning Cyclone and Big Wheel, with two of the best pinball games such as Foo Fighters and Jaws.”

“The guests arrived from all parts of Greece, from Corfu, Rhodes, Athens, and many from Crete, including one of the island’s oldest and best operators, Lazaros Nastos.”

Pictured alongside Stergides are John Kalpacas, George Soultatos, Sakis Dionosopulos – who Stergides described as “one of the top operators in the late ‘90s” – and Kallinikos Tsaganakis, “smiling from the success of the event.”
