Electrocoin Open Day

With the sun shining, new products performing, and the famous Greek barbecue proving as popular as ever, it’s no surprise that Electrocoin’s John A Stergides was in a positive mood during Park Avenue Open Day, with the sales and marketing manager hopeful that the event is indicative of a great summer to come.

Park Avenue Open Day co-host Electrocoin had plenty to be positive about last week, as industry representatives from across the country flocked to north London to enjoy the much-loved networking event with its unique position in the show calendar.

Though Electrocoin certainly doesn’t give itself an easy time, hosting a bar and barbecue at its offices beside a number of visiting PAOD participants, sales and marketing manager John A Stergides told Coinslot that the hard work was all worthwhile to see the industry’s response.

“It’s always nice to see everyone and to catch up, seeing as it’s the last industry event before the summer,” said Stergides. “It’s been a good amount of people, and I like to think everyone’s had a positive day, good food, good conversations, everyone’s enjoyed it.” “We’ve had some new product on display, not just from us, but from other companies as well.”

Though the beginning of the year was marked by “a bit of cautiousness” among operators due to the implementation of the new minimum wage and the changes to Employer NICs, Stergides said that Electrocoin’s latest range had everyone at the company “in an upbeat mood.”

“Easter was a bit mixed for some operators, so we’re trying to give it a last push now before the summer season. Based on what we heard about Easter I’d like to say I’m positive about the summer. We can only be upbeat. You never know these things but it looks like the weather’s going to be on the warmer side, so fingers crossed everyone has a good year.”

On show were a number of machines that could well help operators boost their summer takings, such as the proven successes Rocket Launch and Magic 7 Key, while the new Bar X Diamond Tickets tripleplayer, Hoops Mania ticket pusher, Fun Time double crane, and Spinning Cyclone all commanded attention.

The new game Big Wheel also drew a lot of attention, with Stergides saying “based on what we’ve seen so far this year it’s doing well and we feel it’s going to be a strong product for us.”

With such a strong range, it’s hardly surprising that Stergides took a phlegmatic stance when it came to the charged subject of delays to gambling reform and the ongoing GMTS consultation, adding “anything that’s a bit negative, or is going to slow us down is always going to be unhelpful, hopefully we just keep going in the right direction, and keep working together.
