ICE 2024 Preview

Electrocoin are on the road again next week – albeit making the short cross London journey back to ExCeL for the final ICE (2024) Expo in the UK. A more global audience for the distributor, ICE will see the gaming side of Electrocoin shine and they are determined to reap the rewards. John A Stergides explains the strategy behind the company’s ICE outing.

It’s been a busy start to the year for Electrocoin with a successful EAG already under their belt. Next week it’s back to the ExCeL for ICE London – a show that offers a very different marketplace for the distributor. So how does ICE, the largest gaming and gambling show the world has ever seen, fit into the Electrocoin strategy?

Sales & Marketing Director John A Stergides was quick to respond: “Don’t forget, it’s not our first ICE Expo,” he smiled. And he’s absolutely right; when the former ATEI and ICE expanded on to two floors at its old Earls Court home, Electrocoin were among the first businesses to exhibit at both exhibitions – a pattern it followed in subsequent years. And for good reason, he believes: “It can provide a similar and also a different opportunity for Electrocoin from EAG. It is a gaming show, so it’s a great position to showcase all of our gaming products, whether it’s the latest Bar X Tablet system, ACE Gaming latest Hot Slots or even the Bar X 7even Refurbs.”

And there’s also the chance to capture the ones that missed EAG three weeks earlier as Stergides noted:“It offers a second chance for any operators who were unable to visit EAG or were unable to view our products at the show. It gives them the time to discuss our product range with the benefit that the show is in the UK, albeit the last time since it will move to Barcelona from next year.”

But, Electrocoin have aspirations – and they are far farther afield; the Stergides clan are looking global as well.

Stergides confirmed: “ICE is a great platform to highlight our company on the global stage as we are continually ‘expanding the world of play’. It enables us to show some of our other popular products Like our prize vends, pinball etc.”

And that’s barely a clue as to what Electrocoin will unveil next week. There will be the Bar X Tablet system, ACE Gaming latest Hot Slots and, possibly, the Bar X 7even Refurbs. And then there’s the pinballs. Electrocoin will also be showing the latest Stern Jaws Pinball, Rocket Launch, Magic 7 Key, Hoops Manía 2 and the latest product crane Prize Catcher and Spinning Cyclone.

And if the ICE 2024 showfloor is lucky, Electrocoin will also be hoping to display the very latest addition to the Bar X family – a new launch for the product: a 3 player redemption game: Bar-X Diamond Tickets.

It’s an odd combination, for the traditionalist at least. But ICE is a different beast than many years ago. It’s cooler, trendier, more versatile, an observation Stergides appreciates. “Over the years we have found that the traditional gaming operators including casinos have also looked at providing something different to their visitors including Skill Shooters, Magic 7 Key cranes, as they seek to provide value and a different experience.”

All of which leaves Electrocoin heading back to Docklands for the global industry’s flagship event: profile exercise for international partners and suppliers or an important platform for business to be done? Which is it Mr Stergides”

“For us it provides both! We always look forward to the ICE show – it’s another great platform for us.”
